The trip starts with an overnight stay (on arrival) at the boutique themed Karibu Guesthouse conveniently located only 10minutes away from Entebbe International Airport where you will fly from to get to Bwindi. in time for your next day’s scheduled appointment with the Mountain gorillas whilst staying at the luxurious Bwindi Lodge for 02 nights, before transferring to Ishasha wilderness camp inside the southern ishasha sector popular for her fascinating tree-climbing lions. The additional 02 nights will be spent at Kasenyi Safari Camp overlooking the picturesque Bunyampaka salt lake dotted with Flamingos.
The last two nights will be spent unwinding at the luxurious Mihingo Safari lodge conveniently located only 4 hours from the Airport.
Travel Tip: Ensure your flight departs Entebbe International Airport in the late evening, otherwise we recommend that you consider requesting an Extra night at Karibu Guesthouse which is much closer – 10 minutes from the airport.

- Day 1: Arrive & stay 01 night at Karibu Gueshouse.
- Day 2: Fly to Bwindi Forest NP.

- Day 4 – 5: Transfer to Ishasha for 02 nights staying at Ishasha wilderness Camp.
- Day 6 – 7: Transfer to Kasenyi Area (North) for 02 nights staying at Kasenyi Safari Camp.

Day by Day: 10 Days Gorillas & Cats Safari to Mihingo Lodge

You will be collected from your hotel at 6:00 am and transferred to the airport – only 10 minutes drive from Karibu Guesthouse for check-in ahead of your scheduled flight to Bwindi Forest National Park Landing at Kihihi Airstrip. Upon arrival at Kihihi, you will be met & greeted by a Realm Africa Safaris representative, who will then transfer you to your lodge in Buhoma Region. The drive from Kihihi to Buhoma will last about 2 hours through the greener Countryside into the gorilla county. Arrive and check-in at Bwindi Lodge – our favourite luxury gorilla safari lodge in Buhoma Region.

Day 03: Gorilla Tracking/Trekking in Bwindi forest National Park
Today you will experience the park in yet a different way! You will be joined by a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide for Gorilla Tracking/trekking This might perhaps be the most up-close wildlife moment in your life.
The day starts out with an early morning breakfast at the lodge and thereafter your guide will pick you up and accompany you to the UWA gorilla briefing point. Upon getting there you will be briefed by the UWA ranger for the day about the do’s & don’ts of Mountain gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will be accompanied into the forest by a team of UWA rangers including two armed guards dressed in CT black uniforms armed with an AK47 rifle as a precautionary measure in case you encounter the unruly wild forest elephants. Gorilla Trekking is typically considered a full days affair that involves trekking and tracking mountain gorillas through an impenetrable forest where your guides often hack through the tick vegetation using machetes to create a path. Because this is a tropical rainforest, it does rain almost all year round so please ensure you have the right Gorilla trekking gear, and remember to take a local porter for just $20; Trust me you will that us later!. The moment you find the Gorillas, you will be allowed a maximum of 01-hour viewing & photographing the group of gorillas. You’ll then descend to the start point where you will be awarded souvenir Cetrificates by UWA. after which you may return to your lodge.

Day 04 – Transfer to Ishasha Sector; Home to the last remaining Tree climbing lions in Uganda.
Breakfast, thereafter checkout with all your belongings and embark on a 2.5 hours drive to the Ishasha sector of the glorious Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will enjoy a leisurely safari drive that ends at your lodge; a luxury tented safari camp tucked away in perhaps the remotest corner of the park. You’ll check in and lunch will be served. Take a siesta, and in the evening you will venture out with your safari guide for an evening safari drive. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 05: Explore Ishasha Sector.
You will bear with fact that your guide might request for yet another early start ( you can say No!) so that you venture out into the park before the break of sunrise in search of some nocturnal species like the Hyenas, lions, leopards, etc. This drive is Usually a mini-drive lasting a maximum of 2 hours and will lead you to a spot where you will be treated to a Bush Breakfast out in the open with amazing views of the sunrise. After breakfast, you may return to the Lodge or continue with the safari drive. Lunch at the Lodge. In the evening you will go on an optional Safari drive.

Day 06: Transfer to Northern Queen Elizabeth National Park.
This morning you will depart at leisure, and drive for 2.5 hours to get to Kyambura Gorge Lodge where you will spend the next 02 nights. Check-in and enjoy lunch. After Lunch, you will be transferred to Mweya for the 4:00 pm Boat safari on the Kazinga Channel. Return to the Lodge for dinner & overnight.

Day 06: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge
Breakfast; thereafter you will transfer to the neighboring Kyambura Gorge for Chimpanzee Tracking. This activity will take up to 3 – 4 hours walking through the beautiful gorge that the chimps all home.

Optional: You may opt to go on a lion tracking safari with a researcher from the Uganda carnivore Program; a project dedicated to the monitoring, research, and conservation of predators in Uganda. If interested, please ask your consultant to add this to your costing as it is not included.
Enjoy the afternoon at the lodge – unwinding to the views of the neighboring Kyambura game reserve or go on one of the local walks and activities by the Lodge (Costs EXTRA: Book & Pay directly)
Day 08: Transfer to Lake Mburo National park
Breakfast; thereafter checkout of the lodge with all your belongings, and embark on another beautiful 3-hours drive through the lush greenery of the countryside. you will pass through tea plantations and beautiful rolling hills – things that make Uganda one of the most beautiful countries in Africa. Arrive at your lodge in time for check-in, and lunch.
Enjoy a siesta, and in the evening, you will go for a night safari inside Lake Mburo national park searching for the Nocturnals; Leopards, hyena, porcupines, galagos, owls, and more. return to the Lodge for dinner & overnight.

Day 09: Explore Lake Mburo National Park
Breakfast thereafter join your UWA ranger guide for a guided walking safari inside Lake Mburo National Park. While on this 2-hour guided nature walk, you are likely to spot Eland, Topis, Impala, bushbucks, waterbucks, and the Rothschild giraffe translocated from Murchison falls National Park. Return to the lodge for a full breakfast and relaxation for the rest of the day up until 4:00 pm that you will be joined by your guide for an evening game drive inside Lake Mburo National Park. Dinner & overnight at the Lodge.

Day 10: Return to Entebbe to meet your connecting flight back home.
Today marks the last day of your 10 Days Uganda Safari holiday with Realm Africa Safaris™.
You will enjoy a lovely breakfast served by the gorgeous team at Mihingo Safari Lodge, and there after you shall embark on the return journey to catch your Flight connection back home.
Depending on the time of your flight, you may have the chance to explore the surroundings of the community on the Back of a horse. This will cost EXTRA – speak to your safari consultant and ask them to include this in your safari Quote.
The drive from Mihingo Safari Lodge will last 4 – 5 hours. ensure your flight departs in the late evening.
Alternatively, you may opt to add 01 day to your itinerary and stay the last night at Karibu guesthouse or any other place in Entebbe.
