Our 7 days Primates and lions involves trekking Mountain Gorillas, Chimps and Lions. You will visit Queen Elizabeth National Park for game drives and a boat trip on the famous Kazinga Channel popular for its abundant wildlife and sceneries, and then to Bwindi Forest National Park for the legendary Gorilla tracking Safari experience.

  • Day 01: Arrival into Uganda
  • Day 02: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP, Afternoon Boat trip.
  • Day 03: Chimp Tracking +  Afternoon Game drive
  • Day 04: Lion Tracking, transfer to Ishasha Sector.
  • Day 05: Game Drive, Afternoon transfer to Bwindi.
  • Day 06: Mountain Gorilla trekking In Bwindi Forest.
  • Day 07: Transfer to Entebbe – End of the Safari

This trip can be tailored to the needs of guests with numerous accessible needs and can also be organised with your own driver/guide.

Limited mobility: A sedan chair is available at an additional cost, porters are able to carry the guests with disabilities to see the primates. Accommodation and rooms on the ground level; Door to door transfers if privately guided.

Wheelchair: A sedan chair is available at an additional cost, porters are able to carry the guests with disabilities to see the primates. Wheelchair-accessible rooms can be booked, wheelchair accessible attractions and restaurants suggested for clients.

Blind or limited vision:  This trip can be tailored for blind guests or with limited vision, particularly with private/driver guides.

Diet Conscious: All dietary requirements catered for; our providers are very well versed in handling a variety of dietary requirements.

7 Days Primates (Gorilla, Chimps) & Lions In Uganda


Day 01: Arrival into Entebbe

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by a uniformed Realm Africa Safaris™ representative who will transfer you to your hotel (All accommodation options mentioned are within a 10 -15 Minutes Drive from the Airport).

Overnight: Entebbe. 

Accommodation:

Meals Included: Breakfast.


Day 02: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 

After breakfast; you will embark on a journey to queen Elizabeth National Park. You can opt to drive or fly from Entebbe. If driving is your choice, you need to know that the drive will take approximately 6 hours from Entebbe or 1.5 hours if you choose to fly from either Entebbe airport or Kajjansi airfield to Kasese. Lunch en-route. In the afternoon, you will go for a Boat Safari On the Kazinga channel inside Queen Elizabeth National park.

Overnight: Queen Elizabeth NP.

  • Park View Lodge (Midrange Option).
  • Kyambura Gorge Lodge ( Upmarket Option).

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.


Day 03: Chimpanzee tracking, and afternoon  game drive In Kasenyi plains

Breakfast: thereafter your guide will transfer you to Kyambura gorge for chimpanzee tracking in the sunken gorge. Note: Although there is only a 50% chance of seeing chimps in the gorge, the walk through the lush forest greenery below sea level is very rewarding. Return to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will join your guide on an afternoon Game drive through the savannah plains of the Kasenyi area. Return to the lodge before sunset for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Queen Elizabeth NP.

Day 04: Optional: Morning Game drive or Lion tracking experience, afternoon transfer to Ishasha Sector

Breakfast; thereafter join your guide on a morning game drive or lion tracking experience In Northern Queen Elizabeth National Park. Return to your lodge after your morning activity, and transfer to Ishasha Sector.

Lion Tracking In Queen Elizabeth (Costs Extra as explained below) helps generate revenues for the Uganda carnivore project – a project set up to educate the locals who order the park on best practices of Living in harmony with wildlife – specifically carnivores – Lions, Leopards, Hyenas, and jackals. 

Note: The Lion tracking will cost you an extra $110 per person charged as an activity fee + Community welfare. Add $25 Researchers fees charged per group. 

Overnight: Ishasha.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.


Day 05: Morning game drive, Lunch, and transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park.

Join your guide On an early morning game drive through the plains of the Ishasha sector. While the Ishasha sector is popular for tree-climbing lions, there is also plenty of Other wildlife; Hyenas, leopards, topis, buffalos, Elephants, Kobs, and lots of bird species. Return to your camp for lunch. After lunch, you will transfer to Bwindi forest National park.

Overnight: Bwindi Forest.

Day 06: Gorilla trekking In Bwindi Forest National Park

Breakfast; thereafter confirm that you have all the basics; a lunch box (to be provided by the Lodge), raincoat, good hiking boots, waterproof pants + long-sleeved shirt, a pair of strong garden gloves, repellent, a waterproof daypack to carry all your valuables.

Your guide will thereafter transfer you to the briefing point and also help you out through the registration process. After the briefing by a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger, you will embark on your long-awaited Gorilla trekking experience. Return to the lodge and relax.

Overnight: Bwindi Forest.

Day 07: Transfer back to Entebbe.

Breakfast; and today marks the end of your 7 Days Primates and Lions Holiday In Uganda. If you are booked on a road trip, please bear in mind that you will spend 9 – 10hours driving from Bwindi to Entebbe. Flying out of Kihihi Airport takes about 1hr30minutes (depending on the routing of the aircraft).
