ARRIVAL INTO UGANDA

DAY 01: TRANSFER TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast; thereafter you will meet your driver-guide for the  begining of your  16 Days Best of Uganda – Tanzania Safari.  You will drive to Kibale Forest national park via Fort portal arriving in time for Lunch at the Garden Restaurant. Thereafter you will continue to your lodge for check In.

Enjoy the afternoon at Leisure.

DAY 02: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING IN KIBALE FOREST

Breakfast: thereafter with a between 01-02 litres of bottled drinking water,  a raincoat, a pair of long-sleeved shirt + trousers, good walking shoes, repellent, a camera with extra charged batteries and extra memory chips all packed up in a waterproof day-pack, your driver guide will transfer you to the Kibale Forest Chimp trekking briefing point. After the briefing, you will embark on the trek through Kibale forest in search of chimpanzees. Upon finding the chimpanzees, you will be allowed up to 01-hour – viewing and photographing them. Return to the Lodge – relax and unwind to the memories chimpanzee tracking In Kibale Forest national park – the world’s capital for primates.

In the afternoon, your guide will transfer you to Bigodi Swamp for yet another community guided nature walk that offers travelers a chance to spot other primates that wonder this swamp.

DAY 03: TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.

Breakfast; thereafter transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park on a scenic drive through the Ndali -Kasenda Craters that lie in the shadows of Mountain Rwenzori – 5109m ASL arriving at your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National park just in time for check-in and Lunch.

After lunch, you will then drive to the jetty at Mweya for the most photographic boat safari experience on the famous Kazinga channel – a 40km channel joining two (02) Lakes; Gorge & Edward. This trip lasts 02-hours and offers a lot of bird and animal sightings -probably the best you have seen on an African safari. Return to the lodge or dinner and overnight.

Drive time(s): 03 –  hours drive from Kibale Forest NP to Queen Elizabeth NP.

DAY 04: TRANSFER FROM NORTHERN TO SOUTHERN QUEEN ELIZABETH PARK

Breakfast; then embark on a morning game drive through the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National park. Return to the lodge for lunch, thereafter transfer to Ishasha Sector (Southern Queen Elizabeth) arriving in time for check-in & dinner at the lodge.

DAY 05: MORNING GAME DRIVE, TRANSFER TO BWINDI FOREST.

Breakfast; thereafter embark on a morning game drive through the Ishasha plains in search of wildlife with a chance of sighting the tree Climbing Lions that roam the plains of this park. Transfer to Buhoma arriving on time for lunch at your lodge.

DAY 06: GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI FOREST.

Breakfast; thereafter you will join other trekkers for Gorilla trekking experience through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. In the lead of an armed ranger and guide, you will trek through this impenetrable forest and upon finding the gorillas you will be allowed up to 1-hour viewing and photography time. Gorilla trekking may at times last up to 5 hours requiring good physical health and or fitness is very important. Return to your lodge for dinner & overnight.

DAY 07: COMMUNITY GUIDED WALK TO NKURINGO.

Breakfast; thereafter your Nkuringo Community guide will be waiting to lead you through the Forest trails of Bwindi Forest on the IVY’S trailhead. You will be picked up on the other end and transferred to your Lodge.

Afternoon at Leisure – Enjoy the Scenery form your Lodge.

DAY 08: BATWA EXPERIENCE IN MGAHINGA GORILLA PARK

Breakfast; thereafter confirm that you have all the basics; a lunch box (to be provided by the Lodge), raincoat, good hiking boots, waterproof pants + long-sleeved shirt, repellent, a waterproof daypack to carry all your valuables. 

Your guide will thereafter transfer you to the start of your Batwa Trail experience – Today you get to spend a day with the original pygmy people of the Forest learning about their culture, and daily way of life both before and after the expulsion from present-day Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Return to the lodge and relax.

DAY 09: GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING IN MGAHINGA GORILLA PARK 

Breakfast; thereafter with the right trekking shoes/boots, with long socks, 2 litres of water, a raincoat, a camera and of course a couple of well-charged batteries and extra memory chips for your photography needs, you will transfer to the Mgahinga park offices for pre-briefing on Golden Monkey trekking In Uganda. During the briefing, if keen, you will learn that Mgahinga gorilla Park boasts of having the Highest number of Golden Monkeys in the Virunga mountains, and Mgahinga Gorilla Park is the only place in Uganda where one can trek Golden Monkeys. Golden Monkey trekking In Mgahinga Gorilla Park usually lasts 3 – 4 Hours – it is after this experience that you will then transfer back to your lodge.

DAY 10: TRANSFER FROM UGANDA INTO RWANDA.

Breakfast; thereafter with all your belongings check out of the hotel and embark on a drive into Rwanda.  Kigali from your lodge is approximately 142km/3 -4 hours drive (including border crossing time). Lunch in Kigali and therafter visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial site in Kigali after which you can then check-into your Hotel.

DAY 11: FLY TO TANZANIA

Breakfast; therafter transfer to Kigali Airport ontime for your flight To Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania.

On arrival at Kilimanjaro international Airport, the will be a uniformed Realm Africa Safaris™ representative to meet, greet and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Lunch at the lodge, and afternoon at leisure. You may take a local guide from your Hotel to guide your around the City (NOT included in the Tour Price – Pay directly to the hotel).

Flight time(s): 1 hour 40 Minutes from Kigali to Kilimanjaro International Airport

Drive time(s): 2- Hours drive from your  Kilimanjaro International Airport to your lodge in Arusha.

DAY 11: TRANSFER TO LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK.

Breakfast; therafter emabrk on your 120Km long  drive to Lake Manyara National park famous for tree climbing lions. This park is the only place in Tanzania where lions have eveolved to climb trees. While in lake Manayara NP by the lake also called lake Manyara, you will spot lots of flamingo in season. The park is also a host to other wildlife such as Zebra, hippos, baboons and avariety of antelopes.

After fully exploring this park, you will then exit and drive 45 minutes to get to your lodge ontime for check-in dinner and overnight.

Drive time(s): 2½ – hours from Arusha.

45 Minutes from Lake Manyara NP to Ngorongoro Farm House.

Accommodation: Ngorongoro Farm House – En suite Spacious rooms built on a private farm.

DAY 13: FLY TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast; thereafter transfer to Lake Manyara Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Serengeti National Park. Arrive intime for lunch and check-In.

In the Afternoon, your guide will then take you on a game drive through the serengeti plains.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 14: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN SERENGETI PLAINS

Instead of the usual 01-hour gorilla viewing time. You could opt to go for  the full day Gorilla Habituation Experience which allows you 4-hours with wild mountain gorillas in the Rushaga area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. If you choose Gorilla habituation, then there will be an extra charge on the permits and accommodation – Gorilla habituation permits cost US$1500 each. Forego long drive times from Entebbe or Kampala and fly into Kigali – Rwanda where it is just a 5-hours drive to Rushaga area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Versus the long 09+-hour drive from Entebbe, Uganda.
