Gorilla Trekking In December

Gorilla trekking In DecemberGorilla Trekking In December: The month of December is considered to be an end of year peak season month, and is also widely looked at one of the best times of the year to go gorilla trekking. This is so because December is largely a dry month where little or no rain is expected in the East African region. Gorilla trekking In December is also recommended for travelers looking for a perfect end of year holiday after a whole year’s work.

WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO GO GORILLA TREKKING IN DECEMBER – RWANDA or UGANDA?

Both Rwanda & Uganda share similar climate/weather patterns. The tourism season (peak/low seasons) are equally similar. However, the two (02) vital things the two destinations don’t share are the price of gorilla permits and the Price of accommodation.

Price of Gorilla Permits ( Rwanda Vs Uganda):

Rwanda gorilla trekking permits cost USD1,500 per person, while Uganda gorilla permits cost USD600 per person until 01st/July/2020 when Uganda intends to increase it to USD700 – still a lot cheaper than Rwanda.

Price of accommodation ( Rwanda Vs Uganda):

Rwanda has set itself as a premier luxury gorilla trekking destination in Africa. Her lodges and hotels have been constructed to meet the demands of the luxurious travel communities – the prices at these hotels equally are ” up in the sky”. Rwanda’s properties like the newly opened Singita Kwitonda Lodge will charge anything between USD1450 – USD1,750 per person per night in a double room. Just so you know they are surely luxurious but the price is what we find ridiculous!

Uganda, unlike Rwanda, will serve all sorts of traveler budgets. Accommodation in Uganda is categorized as budget, mid-range & luxury. Speak to us about your travel budget and we will recommend properties that meet your budget.
