1 Day tour to Mpanga Forest Reserve
Depart Kampala/Entebbe at 7:00am for Mpanga forest. The drive is approximately 90 minutes depending on the traffic at the time of travel.
Arrive at about 08:30 am and embark on a guided forest nature walk through the Mpanga equatorial rainforest with the hope of seeing a variety of butterfly species, birds, and also impressive tree species.
The walk usually takes about 60 minutes or 2 hours if you are an intent birder after which you may opt to visit the drum-making village in Mpambire 10 minutes drive from the Mpanga Eco-tourism site. On arrival at Mpabire, your local on-site guide will take you through the process of making the African drums.
A drum in the Ugandan culture is among the most important instruments and plays a significant role in the various cultural rituals and celebrations. For cultural enthusiasts, it is an experience of a lifetime. After your drum-making encounter, we will continue to the Ugandan Equator in Kyabwe where you can have your photo taken, and you can also do some shopping. You will finally have lunch at the Equator and there be dropped off at your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala.
