This 7 Days Uganda – Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari Holiday Tour allows you to see both Rwanda and Uganda. Travellers may opt for a double gorilla trekking experience; one In Rwanda’s Volcanoes National park, and the second in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable forest. This 7 Days gorilla trekking Safari – tour could begin either in Rwanda and end in Uganda or Start in Uganda and end in Rwanda. Where the trip starts will be highly dependent on gorilla permit availabilities at the time of booking.
Special Note: Gorilla trekking permits in Uganda & Rwanda can be scarce, we, therefore, recommend that you plan your gorilla Trekking holiday at least 3 – 6 months in advance.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Begin your 7 Days gorilla trekking Safari with a transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes.
Breakfast; thereafter your tour guide will transfer you to Volcanoes National park neighbouring Kinigi Village arriving at your lodge in time for a sumptuous lunch. In the afternoon, your driver-guide will transfer you from your lodge to visit Ib’iwachu cultural village where you have a chance to indulge yourself with Rwandese culture.

Midrange: Le’ bambou Gorilla Lodge.
Budget: Muhabura Hotel.
Day 2: Golden Monkeys trekking in Volcanoes national park.
Early Breakfast; thereafter you will be transferred to Kinigi park headquarters for a briefing from the park ranger. Along with other trackers, go for golden monkeys tracking. Return to the lodge – freshen up and check out and to the Cyanika border crossing over to Bwindi forest in Uganda where gorilla permits cost US$600 or US$450, for your first gorilla trek the following day.
Alternatively (Optional – NOT included in Tour Price): Otherwise, you may opt do your first gorilla trek in Volcanoes national park where gorilla trekking permits cost US$750 – subject to availability at the time of your gorilla safari booking.

Day 3: 1st Gorilla trekking in either Volcanoes or Bwindi Forest.
After breakfast, your tour guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park warden. At 8:30 am local time, the gorilla trek begins. It normally takes between 2 to 8 hours trekking through the forest and is dependent on the movements of the gorillas in the jungle the previous night.

Day 4: 2nd Gorilla trekking in Uganda or Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
This day do your second gorilla trek. This improves your chances of interacting with gorillas in case the previous trek did not yield better results. On return from the gorilla trek, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.

Day 5: Morning game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park.
Enjoy a morning game drive as you encounter 4 of the Big five including lions, leopard, elephants and buffaloes; others include waterbucks, Uganda kobs, sitatunga, etc. In the afternoon go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel – this is one the best highlights Queen Elizabeth has to offer.

Day 6: Transfer to Kibale Forest national park – chimp tracking.
After an early morning breakfast transfer to Kibale Forest national park for an afternoon chimpanzee tracking.

Midrange: Primate Lodge / Crater Lodge / Kibale Forest Camp.
Budget: Kibale Forest tented Camp / Chimpanzee Forest guesthouse.
Day 7: Transfer back to Entebbe airport
Breakfast; thereafter with all your bags packed up, check out of your lodge and embark on your return journey. This journey could either head towards Kigali (approx. 400kms – 6/7 hours) or Entebbe Airport (Approx. 320kms 6/7hours depending on traffic levels as you approach Kampala). Whichever you choose, please let us know.
