Nkuringo Region is home to four (04) Mountain gorilla families; Nkuringo, Bishaho, Christmas, and posho gorilla family. - Day 01: Kigali/Entebbe to Nkuringo Region.
- Day 02: Mountain Gorilla trekking In Bwindi.
- Day 03: Transfer back to Kigali/Entebbe – End of the Safari
3 Days Safari to Nkuringo Region
Day 01: Kigali/Entebbe to Nkuringo Region (Bwindi Forest)
We will pick you up from your hotel in either Kigali or Entebbe and transfer you to Nkuringo Region (Bwindi).
From Entebbe,
- You can either choose to Fly to the Nkuringo region (saves you sitting in the car the whole day – Return flight costs about $550 return). This is the best way to get to the Nkuringo region from Entebbe.
- Alternatively, you may brave the 9 -10 hours drive from Entebbe to the Nkuringo region.
From Kigali,
You will drive on properly paved roads from Kigali with only the last sections being a dirt road. This journey takes about 5 hours along a very scenic route both on the Rwandan & Uganda side.
Journey time:
- ±1.5-hours flying from Entebbe to Kisoro. ( add 1hr30mins road transfer to get to your Lodge in Nkuringo).
- ±9-hrs from Driving Entebbe to Nkuringo.
- ±5hrs from Kigali to Nkuringo.

Day 02: Gorilla trekking in Nkuringo Region (Bwindi)
Breakfast; thereafter confirm that you have all the basics; a lunch box that will be provided by the lodge where you are staying, a face-mask to safeguard you or the gorillas from COVID-19, a raincoat, a pair of good hiking boots, waterproof pants + long-sleeved shirt, a pair of strong garden gloves, repellent, a waterproof daypack to carry all your valuables.
Your guide will thereafter transfer you to the briefing point and also help you out through the registration process. After the briefing by a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger, you will embark on your long-awaited Gorilla trekking experience. Return to the lodge and relax.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner at the lodge (BLD).
Day 03: Transfer from Nkuringo (Bwindi ) back to Entebbe/Kigali.
Breakfast; and today marks the end of your 3 Days Safari to Nkuringo Region.
With all your bags your guide will then transfer you back to Kigali or Entebbe International airport for your onward return flight.
Journey time(s):
- ±1.5-hours road transfer to Kisoro airport from your lodge + 1hr30mins flying from Kisoro to Entebbe.
- ±9 hours transfer from Bwindi to Entebbe by road.
- ±5 hours transfer from Bwindi to Kigali by road.
Accommodation: Not included on this Day – but can be arranged at EXTRA cost – if needed.

Things to note about this 3 Days Safari to Nkuringo.
- This trip Starts & finishes in Entebbe. Speak to us about the possibility of finishing in Kigali. (Prior flight – ground handling planning is important).
- Unless intending to flying into Uganda and out through Kigali, the ordinary Uganda tourist visa costs USD50 should Suffice. If you plan on flying out through Kigali, we recommend getting the East African Tourist Visa – USD100 – Valid 90 Days – admits you to Uganda & Rwanda.
- Kigali is ±5 hours drive from Kigali – a lot shorter than driving back to Entebbe from Bwindi ±9 hours – carefully decide where you want to start. Feel free to speak to us for advice.
