The cost of any gorilla trekking holiday revolves around three major things;
- Cost of the Gorilla Permit.
- Cost of accommodation.
- Cost of Transport.
The Cost of the Gorilla Permit.
The Cost of a Gorilla permit in Uganda currently is;

- Foreign Non-Residents pay $800 per permit.
- Foreign Residents pay $700 per permit.
- East African citizens pay UGX250,000 per permit.
- Africans from the Rest of Africa pay $500 per permit.
The Cost of accommodation.
For accommodation, the budget lodges/hotels we use charge anywhere from as low as $50 – $80 per person per night with meals included. We charge a baseline price Of $80 per person per day for accommodation with breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included. Meaning your budget for accommodation will be; $80 X 2 nights = $160
The Cost of Transport.
We use 4×4 Toyota Landcruiser vehicles for all our tours. The daily cost of the Vehicle includes;

- Fuel – $110 x 3days = $360.
- The wage for the driver/guide – $50 x 3 days = $150.

All you’ll need to do is contact us via email: info@realmafricasafaris.com, and in your email, please mention/attach the following;
- The date(s) on which you would like to trek gorillas ie 25th/December/2025.
- Attach a copy of your Passport (must be valid for at least 06 months – see: East Africa Passport Validity rule.
Once we have all the above information, we will then check and confirm the availability of gorilla permits with the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) for the date(s) you provided us, and thereafter if available, we will request you to make a visa or Mastercard payment through this link: https://payments.pesapal.com/realmafricasafaris.
