The Cost price for Gorilla Habituation Permits for 2023 still remains as follows;
- Foreign Non-Residents Pay $1,500 per person/permit.
- Foreign Residents Pay $1,000 per person/permit. (*proof of residence required)
- East African Citizens pay UGX750,000 per person/permit.(*proof of Citizenship required)
*All persons intending to go on a gorilla Habituation experience in Uganda must ensure they are 15 years of age and above.

All the above prices for Gorilla Habituation Permits in Uganda are set and regulated by the Uganda Wildlife Authority – UWA a government body charged with the role of overseeing the management of all National Parks in Uganda including Mgahinga & Bwindi where mountain gorillas are found. The Cost price of Gorilla Permits In Uganda does change every two (02) years with the current Price having been set in 2022. This in other words means that the above price is valid up to 2024.
How to book a Gorilla Habituation Permit for 2023 – 2024
Booking a gorilla Habituation permit in Uganda can be done in two ways;
- Book it Directly with Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA): Here you will have to personally contact the UWA via email, telephone, or Physically visit their offices in Kampala. Take with you a copy of your Passport, and have in mind at least two dates on which you’ll like to book your Habituation permits.
- Book it through a Local registered Gorilla Tour operator: This is by far the easiest/fastest way to book a gorilla Habituation permit in Uganda.
