Lake Mburo National Park has a good variety of wildlife. Several antelope species can be seen, including topi, duiker, oribi, Bohor reedbuck, and klipspringer. Elephants are absent, but herds of buffalo are quite common, and Rothschild’s giraffe has been reintroduced from Murchison Falls National Park. A healthy population of leopards is present, although mostly seen on a night safari. Hippo and crocodiles can be seen on a boat safari on the lake.

The best time to visit lake Mburo national park is actually at the start of the rainy season in March or September. The average recorded temperature is 26° C with daily variations ranging from 14° C to 32° C. July and August are the hottest months, but December and January can also be very hot.
