A Safari to Murchison Falls National Park: What to expect on a Safari to Uganda’s largest wildlife protected area approximately 3,893 km² – a haven for wildlife with the best sightings of lions, Leopards, Buffalo, elephants, giraffe and the Nile river “lion” the Nile Crocodile.
Murchison Falls National park is undoubtedly the largest Safari park in Uganda and the most popularly visited of all the ten (10) National Parks In Uganda. Located only 6 hours by road from Entebbe/Kampala, the Park is popular for Game drive Safaris where you get to drive in safari customised jeeps or vans searching for Wildlife, The park also offers an amazing trip to the Falls – a two (02) hour trip if you choose to disembark from the boat and hike to the top of falls or 3-hours return trip if you skip hiking to the top of the falls.
Top Tip: Plan to include the Hike to the Top of falls – you will thanks us later! Reasonable fitness is required for better enjoyment of this activity.
If you are an ardent birder, we recommend adding the Morning shoebill Tracking tour to the Delta to your Murchison falls safari. On the day you leave for Kampala or Entebbe, we recommend making a stop at Budongo forest (Kaniyo Pabidi) for Chimpanzee Tracking.
Chimpanzee Habituation is only possible in the low season months.
While the traditional length of a safari to Murchison falls National park is usually 3 Days, we like to recommend adding one extra day which makes your trip 04 days instead of the traditional three days.
