BRIEF ITINERARY:
- Day 01: Arrive in Uganda | Overnight in Entebbe.
- Day 02: Fly to Bwindi Forest.
- Day 03: Trek Mountain Gorillas In Bwindi.
- Day 04: Optional Activities; 02 gorilla Trek, visit the Batwa, Visit Bwindi Hospital, or Visit the Tea Farmers.
- Day 05: Transfer to airport & fly back to Entebbe.
Detailed Itinerary (Day by Day)
Day 01: Arrive In Uganda ( Welcome, karibuni Uganda)
Today you should arrive in Uganda from your home country. You’ll be met by a representative of Realm Africa Safaris™ who will transfer you to Karibu Guesthouse an 08 room Boutique Guesthouse located 15 minutes from the Entebbe International Airport.
Journey time: 10 – 15 minutes from the Airport.
Accommodation: Karibu Guesthouse. | Meals included: Breakfast.
Day 02: Transfer to Airport and Fly to Bwindi Forest National Park.
Breakfast; thereafter depart your Hotel to be at the airport on time for the 6:00 am check-in. Your flight out of Entebbe will depart at 07:00 am and fly to Kihihi airport where you will be met by a representative of Realm Africa Safaris™ who will welcome, assist with luggage and also transfer you to your lodge in Bwindi. The drive from Kihihi to Buhoma will last roundabout 1 hr & 30minutes. Lunch at the Lodge, and thereafter relax at the lodge.
Journey time:
- ±1hr & 30minutes -Flying from Entebbe to Kihihi.
- ±1hr & 30 Minutes – Road transfer to Buhoma.
Accommodation: Bwindi Lodge | Meals Included: Lunch, & Dinner at the Lodge.
Day 03: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park
Breakfast; thereafter confirm that you have all the basics; a lunch box (to be provided by the Lodge), raincoat, good hiking boots, waterproof pants + long-sleeved shirt, a pair of strong garden gloves, repellent, a waterproof daypack to carry all your valuables.
Your guide will thereafter transfer you to the briefing point and also help you out through the registration process. After the briefing by a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger, you will embark on your long-awaited Gorilla trekking experience. Return to the lodge and relax.
Accommodation: Bwindi Lodge | Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner at the lodge (BLD).
Day 04: Do what you Like; choose one from the options below.
Today you will choose from the following options of activities;
- Go for a second gorilla trek (An additional permit will be required – we must plan to book this in advance.)
- Take a guided walk in the rainforest.
- Visit a local village and learn about community life.
- Visit the Bwindi Community Hospital that now provides vital medical and educational services to more than 60,000 people.
- Take a tour of our local tea processing plant.
- Discover the traditions of the Batwa Pygmies, and learn about the native inhabitants of the forest.
- Stay at the Lodge and relax.
Day 05: Transfer back to Kihihi, and fly back to Entebbe.
Breakfast; and today marks the end of your 05 Day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking safari.
With all your bags your guide will then transfer you back to Kihihi from where you will fly to Entebbe International airport to meet your return flight back home.
Journey time:
- ± 1hr & 30minutes – rod transfer from Buhoma to Kihihi.
- ± 1hr & 30minutes – Flying from Kihihi airport to Entebbe.
