Day 01: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
A Realm Africa Safaris™ representative will meet you from the airport or at your hotel in Kigali, and embark on a drive to the Uganda – Rwanda border of Cyanika. This drive is very scenic and takes you through the rolling hills of Rwanda (the reason its called the country of 1000 hills). At the border, you will checkout of Rwanda into Uganda. Keep your passport handy (must be valid for at least 06 months. See: passport validity rule), and ensure you have an East African Tourist Visa.
Drive time(s):
- Kigali to Cyanika border ± 4 hours (119km/74mi) scenic drive.
- Cyanika to Gahinga Lodge ± 45 minutes (18km/11mi).

Day 02: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Breakfast: thereafter with between 01-02 litres of bottled drinking water, a raincoat, a pair of long-sleeved shirt + trousers, good walking shoes, repellent, a camera with extra charged batteries and extra memory chips all packed up in a waterproof day-pack, your driver-guide will transfer you to the briefing point. After the briefing, you will embark on the trek through the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in search for mountain gorillas. Upon finding them, you will be allowed up to 01-hour with them – viewing and photographing them.
Accommodation: Gahinga Lodge. | Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (BLD).
Day 03: Transfer back to Kigali on time for onward travel
Breakfast; thereafter check out of the lodge with all your belongings and embark on your journey to Kisoro – arriving in time for your scheduled local flight back to Entebbe.
