The price of a Uganda Gorilla Permit in 2024 is; Foreign Non-Residents Pay $700 per person, Foreign Residents Pay $600 per person, and East African Citizens pay UGX250,000 per person.
It’s Important to Note the Following:

- All persons intending to go gorilla trekking in Uganda must ensure they are 15 years of age and above.

All the above prices for Gorilla Permits in Uganda are set and regulated by the Uganda Wildlife Authority – UWA a government body charged with the role of overseeing the management of all National Parks in Uganda including Mgahinga & Bwindi where mountain gorillas are found. The Cost price of Gorilla Permits In Uganda does change every two (02) years with the current Price having been set in 2022. This in other words means that the above price are valid up to 2024.
How to book a Uganda Gorilla Permit in 2024 – 2025
Booking a gorilla permit in Uganda can be done in two ways;
- Booking Directly with Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA): Here you will have to personally contact the UWA via email, telephone, or Physically visit their offices in Kampala. Take with you a copy of your Passport, have in mind at least two dates on which you’ll like to track the Gorillas, and at which location (Bwindi or Mgahinga)
- Booking through a Local registered Gorilla Tour operator: This is by far the easiest/fastest way to book a gorilla permit in Uganda. All you’ll have to do is contact a reputable local gorilla safari Company like Realm Africa Safaris™ requesting us to assist with booking gorilla permits for you. Provide us with a copy of your passport, and desired gorilla tracking dates, and decide on where in Uganda you would Like to go gorilla trekking; Bwindi or Mgahinga. ** If Bwindi is your choice of gorilla trekking destination, we might ask you to choose the Sector in which you would like to trek Gorillas.
