  • Boat safari to the Falls:

The trips to the falls can be arranged for either morning or afternoon. For planning purposes, the morning trips to the falls start at 9:00 am while the afternoon trips typically start at 02:00 pm. The afternoons however have proven to be the best time to go on these boat safaris, since most of the animals (wildlife) come down to the shoreline to drink and cool off in the afternoons.

  • Chimpanzee Tracking in Budongo Forest in Murchison Falls National Park:

Chimpanzee tracking in Budongo forest takes place in two (02) sessions; morning and afternoon. The morning session starts at 7:00 am with a briefing from a trained UWA guide about the rules governing chimpanzee tracking, and what to and not do during chimpanzee tracking. After your briefing, you will head Into the forest to search for the chimps. Silence in the forest is advised as it is one of the ways you will be able to track the chimps and know where they are following the vocalisations they make in the forest.

Chimpanzee tracking generally lasts 3 hours. One hour is allocated to searching for the chimpanzee, another 01 hour of viewing and photographing them, and the third hour is spent getting out of the forest – marking the end of your chimpanzee tracking experience.

  • Visit to the Top of Murchison Falls:

This walk to the Falls Previously involved visitors taking a boat trip to the bottom of the falls, leaving the boat hiking on a scenic trail following in the footsteps of the prestigious Sir Samuel Bakers – a walk that lasted about 45 minutes to 1 hour before getting to actual Top of the Falls where visitors would then re-unite with their drivers/guides and drive back to their respective lodges or hotels. However, as we write this article, the trail on this walk has been cut short by the increase in water levels that caused a massive distraction to the trail as only a section of the previous trail still stands.
