Rweteera Safari Park – overlooking Lake Nyabikere is a budget camp, beautifully Located along the picturesque Lake Nyabikere– the perfect base for chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest NP.
Location: Rweteera Safari Park is located at The rim of Lake Nyabikrere one of the Kibale-Ndali-Kasenda crater lakes close to Kibale Forest National Park – home to chimpanzee and 12 other primates.
Rooms & Amenities: The newly constructed cottages are ensuite with wood heated hot water flowing to the cottage bathrooms (depending on the weather, you hope it gets their still hot) while the tents are non-ensuite – but there is a plan to make them ensuite too – however, the shared bathrooms are bearable. Overall, remember you are coming here for the experience so loosen up a little and purpose to enjoy Africa as it comes.

Chimpanzee Trekking can be done in the nearby Kibale forest National park.
Note: Chimp Permits are very competitive to secure therefore it’s important to Pre-book and pay up front for your permits – each permit Cost USD150.

Follow a wild group of chimpanzees in the company of researchers and local trackers – You get a lot more time around the chimps compared to the traditional chimpanzee trekking experience which allows you only 01-hour with them. However, Chimpanzee Habituation permits cost a lot more than Chimpanzee trekking Permits. Chimpanzee Habituation permits cost USD200.
Note: Chimpanzee Habituation permits are limited and require pre-booking with upfront payments made at least 06 months in advance.

This is a community-operated guided by experienced local guides. The walk takes place in a swamp with walk ways. On this walk, you are likely to see the red colobus Monkey, the black and white Colobus Monkeys, Baboons, vervet monkeys and lots of birds including the colorful Blue Turaco.
All proceeds from this walk go to continued conservations of the swamp and also supporting the local community.
