Kidepo Valley National park

Kidepo Valley National Park is considered the best place to see, photograph & film Leopards in Uganda. This remote safari park has a growing Leopard population that means higher chances of repeated sightings. Queen Elizabeth National park

Queen Elizabeth National Park used to the best leopard Filming location in Uganda especially with the help of a team of experts from the Uganda Carnivore project – an organization devoted to the research and conservation of Uganda’s large carnivores, including leopards, lions and hyenas. However, the park suffers overcrowding especially if filming in the peak season months when Ugandan tourism experience large crowds comprised of student tour groups.

The Alternative spot if you really must film in Queen Elizabeth National Park is the remote Ishasha Plains located approximately 80kms/70 miles from Kasenyi Village. Ishasha is popularly known to be the original home of the famous Uganda tree-climbing lions and we have learned that its also a perfect place to film leopards away from crowds.

The Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the closet place to track, see & Film Leopards in Uganda. The sanctuary is located about 3.5 hours from Kampala, the Rhino Sanctuary is along the route to Murchison Falls National Park and the far-flung Kidepo valley National Park making it easy to combine all-three locations.

Leopards at Zziwa are best sighted on a Night Walking Safari in the company of a local ranger guide.

Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre

The Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education centre – UWEC located in Entebbe city is the best place to see & film a Leopard in Entebbe. Logistically speaking, UWEC is an ideal location for production or media companies & freelance filmmaker working on a tight budget.

However, it’s important to understand that UWEC is not a safari park but rather a rehabilitation centre, and the animals here live in cages.

When filming at UWEC, we like to stay at Karibu Guesthouse or the pocket-friendly Airport Link Guesthouse
