Besides spending, 01-hour with gorillas, one might opt to spend 04-hours with a group of wild Mountain gorillas still undergoing habituation. Mountain Gorilla Habituation Permits cost USD1,500 per person, and only 04 tourists can go on this experience each day. Most travelers come for gorilla trekking in June – October, and December – February. This is, however, is the peak season for Gorilla trekking In both Rwanda and Uganda – its the dry season but characterized with crowds and scarcity of Gorilla Permits.
Offseason Gorilla trekking In April – May and or November might be worth considering. Gorilla Permits will be readily available, and Hotels & lodges will offer discounts on accommodation. However, this is the rainy season meaning the trails are a lot slippery.
