Buhoma Lodge is an up-market luxury lodge tucked away in the midst of the lush forest cover of the incredible Bwindi forest national park. The lodge has ten (10) luxurious chalets each with a view of the forest – something our past clients have found relaxing. The lodge besides being home to the clientele that is looking for great value accommodation in Bwindi forest, Buhoma lodge has also turned out to be inviting to the local wildlife as well including L’hoest monkeys & Gorillas that occasionally walk onto the property. Buhoma Lodge is hardly a 5 minutes walk to the gorilla briefing point without having to wake up so early, and to drive but rather walk a short distance to the start of your dream adventure – gorilla trekking! Given the altitude ( 1,160m ASL) of the lodge, the evenings do get quite chilly or cold at night; a jacket might be handy to carry while you leave your chalet in the evening. to supplement on the extra layers of cloth is a central fireplace set up at the main lodge area – this is all meant to deliver comfort during your stay at Buhoma Lodge. The other good news is that with it being cold here at night guests don’t have to worry about mosquitoes – the lodge is 1,160m above sea level and its way too high for them to survive. The water into your chalet is gravity fed and the electricity is solar-powered. This means that all gadgets including cameras have to be charged at the central lobby area of the lodge. Children are welcome and for younger children nanny service can be arranged while the parents are on a Gorilla Trek. After the gorilla trek and in addition to gorilla trekking – Buhoma Lodge is the perfect starting point for Village Walks and the Batwa Cultural experience. Birding walks and nature hikes can also be easily be arranged to start from Buhoma Lodge.
