After learning about the beauty that is on Bulago Island, many then ask the question; When is the best time to visit Bulago Island?

Bulago Island can be visited all throughout the year, however, the best time to visit would be in the drier season months of  July, January, and then February. The lowest chance of rain occurs around early to mid-July. For example, on the week of July 9th, there are no days of precipitation on average. By contrast, it’s most likely to rain or snow in early to mid-May with an average of 3 days of significant precipitation the week of May 7th. The weather is generally characterized by very few drizzles and clear skies which allows you to enjoy some outdoor activities like forest walks, Fishing, Bird watching swimming, sundowners and sunset boat trips on Lake Victoria…etc without having to worry about getting either cut short or returning to base camp all dripping.


Humidity and Wind on Bulago Island


Bulago Island has some very humid months and high humidity throughout the year. The least humid month is January (71.2% relative humidity), and the most humid month is May (78.4%).

The wind in Bulago Island is usually calm. The windiest month is April, followed by March and July. The busiest month for tourism on Bulago Island is the month of July, followed by October and February. Prices for hotels and flights will be most expensive during these months, though you can save up on your trip to Bulago Island if you plan and book in advance. Tourists are unlikely to visit Bulago Island in September. Those willing to visit at these times will likely find it the least expensive month.
