Uganda launches Local Tourism Campaign # Tulambule Weekend Escape
Uganda’s Minister for tourism Honorable Kiwanda and among other dignitaries from top political positions in the Ugandan government met at the Common Wealth Heads of Governments Grounds to unvail the long awaited local tourism campaign dubbed # tulambule Weekend Escape – a local phrase in the luganda language to mean ” Lets tour”. The #Tulambule Campaign is a drive meant to encourage and build the love for local travel amongst Ugandan’s. Renown tourism brands like Great lakes Safaris & Uganda Lodges were well represented by the passionate tourism ambassador Mr. Amos Wekesa.
While at the launch of the # Tulambule Weekend Escape, a monthly travel plan was issued to guide locals on their monthly travel plans. The ‘#Tulambule Weekend Escape’ campaign kicked off on 23rd September 2016 in Mbarara. The campaign will later go to Jinja, Hoima, Masindi, Entebbe, Kalangala, Mbale, Karamoja, Kasese, Gulu, Kabale, Arua and Fort Portal.
Local Musician and Artistes Eddy Kenzo and Phina Mugerwa alias Phina Masanyalaze have been selected to lead as ambassadors of the Uganda Tourism Ministry’s new local tourism campaign dubbed ‘#Tulambule Weekend Escape’. The #tulambule Weekend Escape is meant to promote local tourism and pilot survey states that by the end of the campaign, all 10 major parks of Uganda will have been unlocked to the public.
