This announcement comes after travelers and tour operators raised concerns and fears that Uganda would follow suit after her counterpart Rwanda. Rwanda Gorilla Permits increased from USD750 to USD1500.

He added, “We won’t hike our tariffs because someone else (meaning Rwanda) has hiked theirs. We do the pricing at the start of a financial year. We will consult with stakeholders in the tourism sector and if there is any reason for the change in prices, we’ll communicate all this to both travelers and Tour Operators.
