Uganda Discounted Low Season Gorilla Permits End – Uganda Wildlife Authority often abbreviated as UWA has officially announced that there will be no more discounted low Season Gorilla permits come 2018.
A LITTLE HISTORY: Uganda in 2014 introduced low Season discounted gorilla Permits that cost only USD450 per permit in the Low Season months of April, May & November. At the price USD450 travelers visiting Uganda would save up-to USD150 off each gorilla permit they purchased. This then made Uganda the most affordable mountain gorilla Safari destination – arguably the Best Mountain Gorilla trekking Destination in Africa.
On 26 May/2017, Rwanda ( bordering Uganda from the south-west) yet another mountain gorilla destination hiked its gorilla permit prices from USD750 to USD1500 – a move that left almost the entire Africa in shock!. Tourism players in Rwanda complained that they were never consulted prior to the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) making this decision of doubling – by 100% Rwanda’s gorilla Permit Price from USD750 to USD1500.
Rwanda’s move to double her Gorilla Permit prices is arguably a well thought out decision says RDB in effecting Rwanda plans to establish herself as a Luxury Gorilla Safari Destination. Rwanda’s Gorilla permit increment has however turned out as a Blessing for Uganda. Travellers intending to indulge in a gorilla Safari now opt for Uganda as permits cost USD600 or USD450 for Low Season Discounted Permits. For a while now, travellers have been targeting Low Season months of April, May and November to book Discounted Uganda Gorilla Permits at USD450. However, Uganda Wildlife Authority has decided that Uganda Discounted Low Season Gorilla Permits End this November 2017 and will no longer be available in 2018. The decision to Scrap Low Season Discounted Gorilla Permits is a move to create a reasonable balance in the universal regional gorilla permit pricing and yet still remain the most affordable mountain gorilla trekking Safari destination.
2018 Uganda Gorilla Permit Price will be USD600 – all year round for Uganda Gorilla Safaris visiting either Bwindi Forest or Mgahinga National Park.
OUR RECOMMENDATION: For all travellers intending to benefit from the Low Season Discounted Gorilla Permit offers on the Ugandan market, the time to book your Discounted Uganda Gorilla Safari is November as Uganda Discounted Low Season Gorilla Permits End this November 2017.
