Today – like a Phoenix rising from the Ashes – the slogan “Never Again” can be seen most anywhere and the message comes across as you visit Rwanda’s Sacred Places – the Genocide Memorials.

Such places are not normal Tourist Places to do and see – however Rwanda is a message to anyone as to what happens when the world stands by, as a people are systematically destroyed only to later claim as President Clinton did at the Kigali Airport “I didn’t know.”

Kigali is one of the friendliest least chaotic cities in Rwanda with lots of things to do and see for visitors and tourist.  Here are some of the must visit places in Kigali that will give you an idea as to what awaits you here.

The Genocide Memorial, the former Presidential Palace Museum, the Muslim Quarter with all of its sights and sounds, Hotel Rwanda (Hotel des Mille Collines), the Belgian Soldier Memorial, to name just a few.

Pilgrimage to Kibeho:

Thousands flock each year – not only to see the Mountain Gorillas – but for a pilgrimage to the small town in southern Rwanda.

Kibeho was the place where some young people had visions of Mary  appearing to them and even telling them of the Genocide that was to come in graphic terms.  In 2001 the Vatican authenticated the visions and the little town of Kibeho has become the Lourdes of Africa with pilgrims not only from Rwanda and other African Counties but from all over the world including India.

For Catholic Visitors Kibeho and its Church should be a must visit that one will not regret.
