Nile delta cruise on the Victoria Nile – Murchison fall national park – Bird watching Safaris
Murchison fall national park is a spectacular park to visit while in Uganda. Located in the northern part of Uganda, the park is popular with Nile river excursions, game drives and bird-watching safaris. The park is, however, most famous for the worlds most powerful fall bursting its way through a narrow 07-meter wide cleft and dropping 43 metres (141 ft), before flowing westward into Lake Albert. The calm stream of water that joins the Lake Albert and the Victoria Nile is called the delta.
Downstream the Nile is the delta point an ecosystem characterized by papyrus vegetation and other aquatic plants. The Delta point is famous for bird watching, game viewing and fishing Safaris with an excellent chance of spotting the rare shoebill Stork a large pre-historic bird. The Nile delta Cruise on the Nile lasts between 4- 5 hours.
The Nile Delta Cruise on the Victoria Nile is a small group affair on the Nile operated on a small aluminium boat that allows for the chance for you to get up-close and personal with the flora and fauna along the Nile.
The guide and skippers on the Nile Delta Cruise are very knowledgeable and willing to help you identify the birds and animals that you will see. Because the Nile Delta Cruise is a slow-moving boat, people keen on photography have brought back with them great pictures of animal and bird sightings.
We recommend that you add the Nile Delta Cruise on the Victoria Nile onto your Murchison Fall National park Itinerary.
