Professional Experience and Academic Credentials:

I graduated from the College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka in Moshi Kilimanjaro, Tanzania with a full certificate in African wildlife management and, and a certificate in tourism training with field specialization in communication, the service journey, the cultural dimension, the art of guiding, security and first aid, health and hygiene. I also have field specialization in man and wildlife, ornithology, mammology, Ecology, botany and herbarium technique. My training includes a general and advanced Certificate of Education.

My publications include “A breeding record of the white-ramped babbler” (Moyer, DC and SW Sikombe, 1992, Scopus 6:103), “Notes on the birds of southern/western Tanzania” (ibid, Scopus 16:55-56). Presentation submitted to the Bulletin of British Ornithologist Club, “Mensural and molt data from afromontane forest birds in National Udzungwa Mountains National Park, Tanzania.”

Professional Experience:

I have more than 15 years working experience in the wildlife field as a tour group leader guiding tourists in the African bush, a wildlife researcher, teacher training students and professionals about African wildlife, biodiversity, and ecology. I have led “National Geographic Expeditions” since 2007. My teaching has included coordinating overseas programs teaching inner-city children in America about African wildlife. My positions in wildlife research have included birding and elephants. In my most recent post at Tarangire Elephant project, I have been described as Bwana Tembo meaning Mr. Elephant. My duties included observation, collection of data, and analysis of elephant movements and human-elephant conflicts around Tarangire National Park.
