Irungu Forest Lodge is a great-value Safari lodge well situated for an early wildlife safari inside Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Irungu Forest Lodge is located outside Queen Elizabeth National Park – hardly 1-minute from the picturesque Kazinga channel that joins two famous lakes; gorge & Edward. On this channel is where you can go on a guided boat safari to see hippos, elephants, waterbucks, warthogs and a flock of various bird including the amazing African fish eagle often perched up in the tree waiting for the perfect moment to strike on the fish in the Kazinga channel.
Irungu forest lodge offers 11 rooms all en-suite with hot & cold showers. Eight (08) are secluded garden cottages thrown away from the main restaurant and lounge area. Our favourite and most recommend are the garden cottages specifically; the newly opened Hyena and leopard rooms, the red & white roses cottages ideal for honeymooners. The restaurant is hardly 1-minutes walk and room service is possible upon request (may cost extra).
Irungu forest lodge garden cottages are enclosed in an electric fence to keep the wildlife away – this makes Irungu a perfect lodge for safari beginners and families with kids.
