GORILLA TRACKING UGANDA RWANDA
Gorilla Tracking Uganda Rwanda is one of the worlds bucket list Experiences that every traveler yearns to take part in before they Die. Gorilla tracking can be done in only three Countries; Uganda, Rwanda & DR. Congo. We currently specialize in gorilla trips to Uganda & Rwanda for safety reasons.
All gorilla families that are open for trekking are fully habituated and are therefore comfortable being around humans. This allows for an unbelievable once in a lifetime experience as you can get within metres of these magnificent creatures.
Gorilla tracking allows a group of up to 08 persons led by an experienced team park ranger. Gorilla tracking lasts from between 02 – 05 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Gorilla tracking may take longer 05 hours but could also be as short as under 30 minutes. As the length of the trek is unpredictable and as the vegetation is quite thick and the gradients can get fairly steep, a good level of fitness is required.
Gorilla tracking usually starts in the early morning from the National Park headquarters at around 07:30am. The treks normally start in the cultivated land at the base of the volcanoes and then as you walk up the slopes you enter the beautiful forest which is home to the Mountain Gorillas. Once you reach the gorillas you are allowed to view the gorilla’s and take photos’ for strictly 01 hour to minimize stressing them.
The minimum age for seeing the Gorillas in Rwanda is 15 years and the cost is currently US$750 per person for a Gorilla permit.
A gorilla permit in Uganda will on the other hand cost you US$600 per person for a gorilla permit. However if you choose to trek gorilla’s in the low season months of April, May and or November, the permits are discounted and cost only US$450 per person for a permit in 2016/17.
