Flying Gorilla safaris are known to save travellers on drive-time and also deliver a comfortable travel experience between attractions. For Instance, in Uganda, getting from Entebbe to Bwindi Forest National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park Park could last well-over 9 hours by road versus Flying which would take just under 2-hours. Getting from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park by road takes approximately 3-hours by road compared to flying in a helicopter which lasts only 30 minutes.

Fly-in Gorilla Safaris in Uganda

Uganda has two (02) popular domestic flight companies; Aerolink & Fly Uganda that operate scheduled & chartered flights to the two (02) gorilla trekking destinations; Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Bwindi Forest National Park. Flights to Bwindi Forest National park can either land at Kihihi (± 40km/25mi to Bwindi Forest) or Kisoro Airstrips (± 36km/22mi to Bwindi Forest). Kihihi is closer to Buhoma & Ruhija Gorilla trekking regions of the Great Bwindi Forest, and Kisoro is closer to Rushaga and Nkuringo gorilla trekking regions.

If trekking gorillas in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, one has to fly into Kisoro Airstrip and drive 4ominutes through a distance of only 15km/09mi.
