Cyamudongo Forest – Originally part of the greater Nyungwe Forest National Park in Rwanda, but now a stand-alone patch of forest is considered the best place to go chimpanzee trekking in Rwanda.  The forest is home to 43 habituated chimpanzee individuals that roam the forests’ 5SqKm radius.

Despite the forest being a mere 5sqKm – all surrounded by 3sqkm of the artificially planted vegetation of pine and eucalyptus that acts as a buffer-zone to discourage the chimps and any other wildlife from crossing into the neighboring community, Cyamudongo Forest has a lot to offer to travelers visiting Rwanda on Safari.
