Buhoma Community Rest Camp

Buhoma Community Rest Camp as the name may clearly suggest is a community-owned budget lodge on the edge of the Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.

The lodge is only two minutes walk to the gorilla briefing point where all trekkers convene for an early morning brief about gorilla trekking before gorilla families are allocated to individual tourists.

Accommodation at this lodge can be in a self-contained tent with bathrooms attached, African Style Cottages (Bandas), or in a dormitory – all at an affordable price.

Food is offered to full-board guests and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.  At lunch and dinner, you are offered several choices, a vegetarian can be accommodated and will not leave hungry. Drinks from sodas to alcohol are available and cold to refresh you after a long gorilla trek.

• Besides Gorilla trekking which is the primary reason for most visitors, at the Rest camp you could venture out into the community with a local guide to explore the village surroundings and visit the Batwa pygmies.
