Borana Lodge

Borana Lodge

Borana Lodge is bordered by the snow-tipped peaks and glaciers of Mt Kenya to the south, and the panoramic mountains and desert to the north, the lodge featuring eight (08) guest rooms of four (04) cottages and two (02) family cottages. The beautiful cedar-and-stone thatched accommodation includes en-suite bathrooms, open fireplaces and private verandas affording exceptional views of the plains below. Borana Lodge

Room 1 is ideal for honeymooners and is very private, Room 2 has stunning views and two comfortable single beds, Room 3 is wheelchair friendly and can be combined with Room 4 for a family getaway. Rooms 5 and 6 offer a colourful children’s room downstairs for the little ones, and Room 7 and 8 offers large double beds, a spacious bathroom and a refreshing plunge pool.

Borana Lodge prides itself with good farmer-grown food — the chefs insist on growing their own vegetables, baking homemade pieces of bread and fresh pasta. A private orchard supplies juicy fruits for the delicious freshly-squeezed juices served daily to guests. The pool veranda overlooking the Hyena Valley Dam is a favourite place for a long, leisurely lunch, whilst the infinity pool offers an inviting escape from the heat. A spacious sitting room provides guests with an idyllic spot to relax — comfortable sofas and armchairs are dotted around a huge open fireplace.

By staying at Borana Lodge you are making a direct contribution to conservation, which will allow us to continue on a truly sustainable journey, committing profits to secure conservation integrity.

Borana Lodge offers some of the most thrilling, authentic and unique ways to encounter Kenya’s wildlife and wilderness thanks to our conservation efforts.  The Borana Conservancy strives to retain this land as a pristine wilderness that guests are able to enjoy first hand. Walkthrough the bush, ride across the conservancy on horses or mountain bikes, view the wildlife in open-top safari vehicles, or lounge at the infinity pool and enjoy the view.

As Borana is a private conservation area, exclusivity is guaranteed. This makes every aspect of the safari experience personal, peaceful and uninterrupted and gives you the rare opportunity to be totally immersed in nature.

For the more adventurous, there is fishing, rock climbing, scenic flights and more.
