Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda Resumes during COVID-19

Gorilla Trekking In Rwanda Resumes

Gorilla trekking in Rwanda resumes after a period of well-over three (03) months of lockdown following the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus commonly known as COVID-19.

The Rwanda government has re-opened Gorilla Trekking In Volcanoes National Park after it was closed for over three months for fear of tourists spreading the deadly coronavirus to the gorillas during gorilla trekking. To encourage tourists intending to plan & book post-lockdown Gorilla Safaris to Rwanda, RDB – Rwanda Development Board – has slashed the gorilla permit prices by 60-80%.

Post-lockdown gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park will now cost USD500 for foreign non-nationals (tourists), while Rwandan citizens and foreign residents including ex-pats living & working in Rwanda will pay USD200 per person to trek and spend 01-hour with a group of habituated mountain gorillas in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. However, it’s important to note that the new prices mentioned above are only valid until December 31/2020.

Unfortunately, while the discounts on Rwanda Gorilla permits are enticing, all international commercial flights in & out of Rwanda remain non-operational with the hope of these starting operations on 1st/August/2020. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda resumes

However, for the mine time, visitors travelling by charter are welcome to fly into Rwanda for gorilla trekking and any other tourism activities. ( See: Things to see & do in Rwanda)

Hotels and Safari lodges in Rwanda are operational and each follows the set standard operating procedures set by the Rwandese government.
