Sipi falls area is popularly known for its three (03) water falls. There are walks and hikes that start from varying points the Most common being that which starts at the Sipi River Lodge (Our best recommendation for places to Stay in Spi Falls).
The Sipi Falls area is the starting point for many hikes up Mt. Elgon. The most popular route starts in Budadiri and follows the Sasa trail to the summit and then descends down the Sipi trail back into the Sipi Falls. Hikes around the Sipi falls offer stunning views of the Karamoja plains, Lake Kyoga, and the slopes of Mt. Elgon. ACTIVITIES - THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN SIPI FALLS AREA
Sipi Coffee Tour: This walk takes you on a visit to a local coffee plantation where you get to learn about a coffee farmer’s work and life cycle of the Arabica coffee grown in the Sipi areas. The Sipi Falls coffee tour costs $15 per Adult or $7 per child and lasts between 3 – 4 hours.
Abseiling & Rock Climbing: Not for the faint hearted, but good for persons who love to experience a little adrenaline rush. You will abseil from a breath taking 85m waterfall and or Climb 6 bolted routes, 16m – 35m in height. The abseiling and rock climbing experience around Sipi Falls area costs $50 per person (Abseiling), $40 per person (Rock Climbing), $75 per person (If doing both activities).
Sabiny Cultural Walk: This tour leads you on a cultural path through the villages of the native people of Sipi Falls area. While on this tour, please make it a point to indulge in local Sabiny customs including dancing, food, and local brew – at true local experience around Sipi area.
