Volunteer Travel
Volunteer travel is perhaps the best way to explore East Africa. We currently work in Uganda, but there are plans to expand our volunteer programs into neighboring Rwanda.
Locally Supported Volunteer Travel. Our team of locals will meet you on arrival in Uganda, help you settle in, introduce you to other volunteers, arrange a worthwhile volunteer placement for you, assist you with your day to day needs, and more. Most importantly, they are available anytime you need them.
Purpose driven Volunteer Travel. In our opinion, we think traveling with a purpose to give back and support the communities is a lot more worthwhile.
Immerse yourself into the community. Live with a local family, eat local food, and take local transportation. Truly live like a Ugandan local.
Our volunteer Travel programs completely allow you to immerse yourself into the culture and daily way of life of the locals while getting an in-depth understanding of their lifestyle and why they do the things they do.
While our Volunteer travel program will give you the opportunity to travel visit Uganda and give back, here are some options that are particularly good for volunteer travel.
- Care and Teaching Projects – Work in orphanages, care centers, kindergartens and special needs schools – all of which are understaffed and lack resources. You can also spend your time in Uganda teaching English to local children.
- Environmental Conservation – Live and work wildlife conservation programs like Uganda’s Rhino Sanctuary, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, Entebbe Botanical Gardens, and much more Volunteer conservation programs.
- Culture and Community projects – These may be some of the best programs for volunteer travelers. Get a taste of true adventure by living with a nomadic family in Uganda’s remote countryside. Learn more about Karamajong Culture in Kidepo Valley.
Develop a truly intercultural understanding during your Volunteer travel to Uganda. No matter what you choose to do, by the time your project has finished, you’ll realize that you’ve gained much more than you could have as an ordinary traveler. You’ll come away with a greater understanding of the culture, friends in Uganda, and travel memories that will keep you on the path of exploration. What better way is there to travel?
