Lions In Africa - Realm Africa Safaris

Lions In Africa

In the African plains, lions stalk and take down speedy ungulates as they feed on tasty grasses, prides nap in the shade of the shrubby wilderness, and cubs play under the watchful eye of their mothers as males fight for the highest-ranking office as the Dominant lion of the Pride.

Lions In Africa can be seen on safaris throughout Africa and are often a highlight of most African Safaris, especially if you are lucky to catch a sighting of them hunting and successfully taking down prey.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT LIONS IN AFRICA

Lions in Africa vary in color from light to yellowish-brown makings. Lions are unmistakable compared with the other large cats in Africa. Lions live in groups called a pride consisting of females, usually belonging to the same family, and between 1 – 4 males who defend the pride territory.

Most of the hunting is done by the smaller more responsive females who will often work together to achieve a successful hunt. Lions In Africa will hunt anything from small antelope to the more difficult buffalo and even giraffe; The males will occasionally assist in tackling more dangerous animals like the buffalo, and giraffe. Males have a large mane of hair whose coloring varies from being beige to black depending on the individual and the area in which they live.
