Best time to go on a birding Safari in Lake Mburo National Park

The best time to go on a birding safari in Lake Mburo National Park is in the months of April to May and November and October when migratory birds from Europe and North Africa are in the park. The best time for a combined birding & wildlife tour to lake Mburo National Park is in the dry season months of June to September and December to February.

In the evenings or on a rainy day it can get quite chilly no matter which time of the year it is and on a sunny day, it will always be hot and feel even hotter in the rainy season because of the increased humidity. Generally, Lake Mburo National Park has nearly the perfect climate with warm, but not over hot days and slightly colder nights.

Where to stay while on a birding tour to Lake Mburo National Park

There are quite a few interesting places to stay on a Safari in Lake Mburo. Our favourite recommendation is Mihingo Lodge bordering & overlooking the park. Other alternatives include the fairly priced Rwakobo Rock Safari lodge, or the budget option of staying at the scenic Eagles Nest perched on a hill overlooking both the Lake & Mburo National Park.
