Best Places to film Reptiles In Entebbe


  • Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre.

The Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre – UWEC also commonly know as the Entebbe Zoo is home to quite a number of reptiles both free-ranging & in cages. These include; the amazingly large Nile crocodile, tortoise, terrapins, and a variety of African snake species including the African rock python, Cobra, Gaboon viper and many more.   • Uganda Reptile Village in Entebbe.

The Entebbe Reptile Village located on the outskirts of Entebbe city is yet another interesting place worth visiting for Reptile Filming in Uganda. This reptile village was started by a local snake guide called Yasin Kazibwe. (Click to watch a youtube video of Kazibwe Yasin). This place is a perfect place to film some notable Uganda reptile species like the African Rock python, cat-eyed Snake, Gabon Viper, forest cobra, Egg-eating snake, three-horned chameleon to mention but a few.

  • Ngamba Island.

Though popularly known as the chimpanzee Island, Ngamba is equally a rewarding Reptile filming location in Uganda especially for free-roaming monitor lizards, agama lizards, tortoise, and quite a variety of snakes. Ngamba’s location on the gigantic Lake Victoria makes for a perfect filming backdrop for your reptile film shoot.

While filming at Ngamba Island, we recommend staying on-site at the Ngamba eco-lodge overlooking the picturesque Lake Victoria. here you could also opt to bring your own tent and experience camping on Ngamba Island.

  • Entebbe Botanical Garden

The Entebbe Botanical garden is yet another potential reptile filming location in Entebbe that is worthwhile considering. In here you are likely to spot the Nile monitor lizards basking on the rock overlooking the Lake victoria, varied chameleons species can also be sighted in the Botanical gardens, and if lucky, there are quite a few resident forest cobras roaming the beautiful Gardens.
