Itinerary – Day by Day

ITINERARY (DAY BY DAY) – 15 Day All About Uganda Safari


DAY 01: ARRIVAL & TRANSFER TO HOTEL

 Arrive at Entebbe international airport where you will be met by your Realm Africa Safaris guide who will transfer you to your Karibu Guesthouse – our popular recommendation for overnight stay in Entebbe (other options available).

Drive time(s): Entebbe Airport to Karibu Guesthouse 10 – 15 minutes drive.

Accommodation: Karibu Guesthouse

Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast. (Meals can be arranged at the Guesthouse but will cost EXTRA)


DAY 02: TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALL NATIONAL PARK VIA  ZZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY.

Breakfast: thereafter checkout of Karibu Guesthouse, and transfer towards Murchison Fall National Park with an Enroute stop at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for on foot Rhino Tracking. Lunch at Kabalega dinners, and then proceed to Boomu Women Village arriving on-time for check-in. On arrival at Boomu, you will immediately join your host family cooking your dinner. While here you will learn how to light an African Wood stove, peel the freshly pick garden food, and also learn how to prepare an African meal.

Accommodation: Boomu Womens Village – Basic Bandas – with clean toilets & a cold shower.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & local African Dinner  prepared by you with support from your host family.


DAY 03: EXPERIENCE THE LIFE AT BOOMU VILLAGE

Today you will wake up with the rooster (6:30am) and help out with preparing breakfast which you will then Sit down to enjoy. Thereafter, you will be led by a Local community guide to visit the village On  a guided community walk. While on the walk, you will get the chance to learn and observe  the peoples way of life within the Boomu village. Return to Boomu Banda for yet another African Lunch, therafter checkout and drive into Murchison Falls national park and drive To the top of Murchison Fall. You will be accompanied by a ranger guide on a hike done the Baker trail where you will find your private boat waiting to take you on an afternoon boat safari downstream the Nile. This Boast safari ends at Murchison River Lodge where you will spend the night in the spectacular River front thatched self contained safari tentsour best recommendation.

DAY 04: EXPLORE MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK (DELTA TRIP, & AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE)

This morning you will be picked up at the lodge Jetty  at 7:00am (of course after Breakfast which is served as early as 6:00am) you will then sail down stream the River Nile towards the Delta Point – rumored to be the best place to Spot the rare Shoebill Stork .

Much as the highlight of the Delta Boat Safari is sighting the shoebillstork, there is still of wildlife ( Elephants, waterbucks, Girraffe, Hippos, Kobs, Warthogs, Buffalo and if lucky you could catch a sighting of the elusive leopard) to see along the river banks both on your way down and up the river. Return to the lodge for a sumptuous lunch serve by the river view restaurant.

Optional: In the afternoon game drive through the Savannah of Murchison Falls National Park.  or Relax and read a book, use the swimming pool a the lodge as you unwind to the sunset view – Murchison River lodge offers you the best sunset view.

DAY 05: TRANSFER FROM MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast; and thereafter embark On the drive to Kibale Forest National park. Lunch enroute, arriving at Chimpanzee guesthouse  in the late afternoon on-time for check-in & dinner.

Accommodation: Chimpanzee Forest Guesthouse.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

DAY 06: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING IN KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast; thereafter your driver-guide will transfer you from the lodge to the park headquarter arriving on-time for a briefing about Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest.

Optional(Not included in the Tours Price):

In the afternoon today you may opt to relax at your lodge or indulge in any one 0f the activities mentioned below – to be charged EXTRA.

DAY 07: TRANSFER FROM KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast; thereafter checkout Of your lodge with all your belongings and head-out to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will proceed to check in at Bush Safari lodge, lunch willbe served and you will have sometime to relax.

At 4:00pm your guide will be waiting to take you On an afternoon game drive through the savannah plains of the spectacular Queen Elizabeth National park. Return to the lodge n time for dinner and overnight.

Accommodation: Bush Safari Lodge.

DAY 08: EXPLORE QUEEN ELIZABETH PARK ( MORNING GAME DRIVE & AFTERNOON BOAT TRIP)

Early breakfast; then head-out Into the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National park for a morning game drive in search for wildlife. Return to the Lodge for lunch.

After lunch, your guide will then transfer you by car to Mweya Pennisular where your Kazinga boat safari begins. While on the Kazinga boat safari, expect to see Lots of animals and birds wallowing and swimming – The kazinga Boat trip is exceptionally one (01) of the most interesting experience in Queen Elizabeth National park.

Enjoy an enroute game drive back to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 09: TRANSFER TO ISHASHA SECTOR – SOUTHERN QUEEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.

Breakfast; thereafter with all your belongings,and a picnic lunch box, checkout Of the Bush Safari Lodge and embark on drive to Ishasha Sector – popular for tree Climbing lions -probably the best place to See them In East Africa.

Picnic Lunch beside the Ishasha River (a Natural boundary between Uganda and Dr. Congo –  Don’t panic this part of Dr. Congo is Safe.

Enjoy a leisurely game drive towards your lodge on time for Check in & dinner.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, picnic lunch box (transit) & Dinner at the lodge.

DAY 10: TRANSFER TO BWINDI FOREST

Breakfast; thereafter check out of the your lodge and transfer  to Buhoma sector of Bwindi Forest. This journey lasts only 02-hours.

Options of things to do today (Not included in the tour Price):

Accommodation: Buhoma Community Rest camp.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (BLD).

DAY 11: GUIDED BUHOMA – NKURINGO WALKING SAFARI EXPERIENCE THROUGH BWINDI FOREST.

Breakfast; your driver guide will then introduce you to our local walking Safari guide who will be leading you on yet another exciting nature walk through the lush forest cover of Bwindi forest , through communities – this will probably be your best ever guided walking experience.

Buhoma – Nkuringo Walking Trail takes three (03) to four (04) hours, and crosses right through Bwindi Forest, connecting the two villages and offering impressive views of the misty hillsides as you ascend the hills towards Nkuringo. All luggage remains with the driver-guide, who will meet you at the other side. This trail can also be completed as part of the Ivy River Walk.

DAY 12: GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI FOREST.

Breakfast: thereafter with a packed lunch box, 02 litres of bottled drinking water,  a raincoat, a pair of long sleeved shirt + trousers, good hiking boot, a pair of garden Gloves, repellent, a camera with extra charged batteries and extra memory chips all packed up in a waterproof daypack, your driver guide will transfer you to the briefing point. After the briefing, you will embark on the trek through Bwindi forest in search for the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking can be strenuous to even the most physically fit – we recommend that you hire a porter (extra cost not included in the tour price) to help you carry your daypack and also give you a hand during your trek – read more ” Why to Use a porter for gorilla trekking. Upon getting to the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed up to 01-hour with the mountain gorillas – viewing and photographing them. Return to the Lodge – relax and unwind to the memories Of gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest.

DAY 13: TRANSFER FROM NKURINGO TO LAKE BUNYONYI

Breakfast at leisure; thereafter checkout with all your belongings and head out for Lake Bunyonyi  – Africa’s most lovely lake.

At Muko your driver guide will then turn off onto a dirt but yet very scenic route, this is your opportunity to capture breath taking photographs of the “29 – island filled lake“. Arriving at your lodge on-time for check-in and lunch.

In the afternoon, you may opt to take a swim at the lodge pool or experience a dug-out canoe on lake Bunyonyi (at own risk).

Other Options of things to do & see at Lake Bunyonyi (NOT included – Cost EXTRA).

  • The motorboat trip (at own risk) takes you along the numerous islands of Lake Bunyonyi. Two (02) hour lake exploration: USD25, Three (03) hour lake exploration: USD35.
  • 1). Motorboat Trips
  • 2). Batwa Visit

    The Batwa are a local pygmy (short) tribe living around lake Bunyonyi. A visit to this tribe includes a boat ride crossing lake Bunyonyi, a visit to the community and a traditional dance performance. UGX20, of the fee charged goes to support of the Batwa community. The whole trip takes approximately Four (04) hours. Complete trip: USD50.

    3). Visit to the blacksmiths of Bukona

    A boda-boda (motorcycle-taxi) will take you to the village of Bukona along a scenic route offering beautiful views over the lake and its many islands. In the village the blacksmiths practice their craft the traditional way, using charcoal and pumps. This visit offers a nice opportunity to obtain some unique souvenirs. Complete trip: USD15 per person.

    DAY 14: TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

    Breakfast; thereafter head out For Lake Mburo National Park arriving on time for lunch at the lodge and a scheduled (4:00pm) Boat trip on lake Mburo.

    Accommodation: Lake Mburo Tented Camp.

    Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (BLD).

    DAY 15: TRANSFER FROM LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK TO ENTEBBE

    Early coffe/tea start; thereafter you will be met by a Uganda wildlife Authority ranger guide for a brief, and immediate start of your Wilderness walking Safari in Lake Mburo National park amidst buffalo, Elands, Topi, and Impala – this par has got abundance Of birds too.

    Return to the lodge for a full Breakfast. Thereafter Check out of the lodge and embark on the drive towards Entebbe.

    You will enjoy scheduled stops at the Equator for both souvenior shopping and a leg stretch out. Continuing and arrving Entebbe in the evening.

    Special Note: Ths activities Done on this day are dependent on your Entebbe departure flight time(s), and we will therefore use our Best judgment to determine whether on NOT you should indulge in the Lake Mburo walking Safari.

    Our Recommendation: Book your flight for a late departure (in the wee hours ) or simply add an extra Day with overnight in Entebbe.

Our land cruisers come fully air conditioned and with a cool box fully packed with complimentary en route drinks and snacks. The trucks all have large windows and an open roof that offers a 360° animal view allowing for photography while on safari.

Add-On Options to Consider adding to your 15 Day All About Uganda Safari


Instead of the usual 01-hour gorilla viewing time. You could opt to go for  the full day Gorilla Habituation Experience which allows you 4-hours with wild mountain gorillas in the Rushaga area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. If you choose Gorilla habituation, then there will be an extra charge on the permits and accommodation – Gorilla habituation permits cost US$1500 each. Kidepo Valley National park is  an isolated Park that is not easy to stitch together and can mainly be explored in Isolation. A traveler would need at least 4 – 5 Days to satisfactorily explore the remote Kidepo Valley Natinal Park.
