Mutanda Lake Resort

MUTANDA LAKE RESORT

Mutanda Lake Resort on a Peninsula – Lake Mutanda is moderately Priced, beautifully Located along the picturesque Lake Mutanda – the perfect base to Trek gorilas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest,  and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Location: Mutanda Lake Resort on a Peninsula  –  The name credits its fantastic location on a private Peninsula jetting into Lake Mutanda and yes the location of this lakeside resort is a huge plus and one more reason for staying at Mutanda Lake Resort.

Rooms & Amenities: There are 13 private tented cottages –elevated on wooden platforms for a better view and each has a private deck where you can sit in quiet and enjoy the sights and sounds of Lake Mutanda before you and the massive Virunga Volcanoes in the distance overlooking the scenery of the lake.

The permanent tents are built on raised platforms, they are self-contained with bath tents, and there are tents with twin beds, double beds and even triple beds for you to enjoy while here at Mutanda.  The views from each tent and from the decks of the tent in each case is simply magnificent in this undiscovered by most part of Uganda.

Activities:

Gorilla Trekking In Uganda can be done in either or both Bwindi Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Note: Gorilla Permits are very competitive to secure therefore it’s important to Pre-book and pay up front for your Gorilla permit.

Before Booking: Please read our Gorilla Permits Cancellation Policy.   |  Gorilla Rules & Regulations

Trek a wild group of mountain gorillas in the company of researchers and local trackers for up to 4-hours with the mountain gorillas – You get a lot more time around the Gorillas compared to the traditional gorilla trekking experience which allows you only 01-hours with them. However, Gorilla Habituation permits cost a lot more than Gorilla trekking Permits. Gorilla Habituation permits cost USD1,500.

Note: Gorilla Habituation permits are limited and require pre-booking with upfront payments made at least 06 months in advance.

Learn More about Gorilla Habituation experience in Uganda | Gorilla Habituation Rules | Gorilla Habituation Cancellation Policy.

Golden Monkeys In Uganda can only be seen in Mgahinga National Park.

Unlike Gorilla Permits, Golden Monkey permits are readily available.

A Visit to the batwa Pygmies – the old people of the forest where the mountain gorillas live in worthwhile. Get to learn More about their culture. while this experience can be done both in Bwindi and Mgahinga, we prefer the Mgahinga Experience – simply because the Buhoma (Bwindi experience is touristic – something we think kills the experience.
