Filming In Serengeti National ParkSerengeti National Park is Tanzania’s oldest national park and remains the flagship of Filming In Tanzania with the legendary first documentary Serengeti Shall Not Die being been shot in the central Seronera region in 1959 By Bernhard Grzimek & his son; Michael Grzimek who actually died on-location during the filming of this documentary after a plane he was flying hit a Vulture. Serengeti National Park remains one of Tanzania’s Premier Filming Locations for Filming Lions, and Wildebeest Migrations.

Filming In Serengeti National Park requires permits and permissions from Tanzania National Parks Authority and the Tanzania Film Censorship Board. The process of acquiring these permits and permissions is bureaucratic and can be an overwhelming one sometimes. OBTAINING SERENGETI FILMING PERMITS & PERMISSIONS


Filming In Serengeti National park is only legal after you have acquired the following permits and permissions;

Tanzania Filming Permit; All foreign journalists, Media / Production companies, and Film Crew intending to film In Tanzania MUST apply for a Filming permit from the Tanzania Film Censorship Board. This process can be daunting but we can help you through it all.

Procedure: 

Fill In the Filming Permit Application form clearly stating reasons for shooting/filming in Tanzania. You must also attach a synopsis or scripts of you intended film when forwarding their applications. All applicants are advised to submit this form at least one (01) month before the commencing date of filming in Tanzania.

OTHER PERMISSIONS NEEDED TO FILM IN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK


Serengeti Filming Permit
Filming In Serengeti national park requires a Location Filming permit specifically allowing a crew to film in that particular location. After acquiring a Tanzania Filming Permits from the Tanzania CensorshipFilming in Serengeti means that a Film crew MUST apply for a Serengeti Filming Permit from the Tanzania National Park Authority. A Permit to film in Serengeti National park costs USD300 per person per day and includes; entrance into the park, camping fees, and filming per day.
