Uganda Tourist Visa: Single Vs Multiple Entry

UPDATED 15th/OCTOBER/ 2022: A Tourist Visa into Uganda costs $50 – for a Single Entry. If intending to visit multiple East African countries (Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi) with Uganda being your first entry point then we recommend applying for a Ugandan Tourist Visa for $100 valid for 90 Days for travel across Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, and Burundi.


Every traveler visiting Uganda for Tourism purposes must have applied for and secured a Uganda Tourist visa prior to their travel to Uganda. Visitors have the option of applying for either a Single Entry visa or Multiple Entry.

Any person intending to travel to Uganda must apply online and have a Travel Authorization/Visa Approval Letter before embarking on their travel to Uganda as there are no visas issued on arrival.

Uganda Tourist VisaSingle Entry Ugandan Tourist Visa:

A standard single-entry Ugandan Tourist visa Valid for up to 03 months costs $50, and you’ll need to apply for this visa online prior to arrival at your entry port.

Single Entry Uganda Tourist Visa requirements for 2022 & Beyond

  1. Attachments
    1. Passport (Bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity
    2. Recent Passport size Photograph
    3. Valid Police clearance from Interpol or home country
    4. Vaccination Certificate (Yellow Fever)
    5. Recommendation letter from one (2) referee in Uganda
    6. Cover Letter stating reasons for Multiple Entry

What is the cost of a Single Entry Uganda Tourist Visa

  • A single Entry Uganda tourist Visa costs $50. Valid for up to 03 months – at the discretion of the immigration personnel.

  • Visa Fees are non-refundable and all payments are subject to a bank charge.
  • Language; all documents attached should be in English.
  • Any other documents may be required during the processing

A step-by-step guide to applying for a Single Entry Uganda tourist Visa in 2022 & Beyond

  • Step 1: Log into the Immigration Portal and select start new application
  • Step 2: Accept the terms and conditions displayed in the Disclaimer.
  • Step 3: Select the visa or permit type, category, and sub-category
  • Step 4: Complete the application form
  • Step 5: Upload the required documents; a six-digit application ID eg. (234790123) is automatically generated as the reference number
  • Step 6: Make payment for applications that require prepayment.
  • Step 7: Upon approval, for applications that don’t require top-up payment, an approval letter will be generated and emailed to the applicant on the home page
  • Step 8: Upon approval, make a top-up payment for applications that require a top-up payment. After payment, an approval letter is generated and emailed to the client
  • Step 9: Report to the immigration office/ border for biometric capture with all documents uploaded, payment receipts, approval letter, and passport

Multiple entry Uganda tourist visa 2022Multiple Entry Uganda Tourist Visa:

This is granted to travelers who travel to Uganda frequently. This can be granted for 6 months, 12 months, or 24 months and allows the holder multiple entries for the duration. The visa prohibits employment.

How long Does it take to get a Uganda Tourist Visa?


All visas, permits, and passes are approved within two (2) to three (3) working days, except in special circumstances where more documents and/or verification may be required. However, applicants are advised to apply at least five (5) working days before their intended date of travel.
